What's really slowing you down?
Most builders aren't blocked by one big thing — they're blocked by one hidden thing they keep working around. Answer five questions and name your Friction Signature: the single block that's actually in the way, and the one move that breaks it.
Answer all five to see your signature.
The five Friction Signatures
Friction isn't laziness, and it isn't a lack of discipline. It's a pattern — a particular way each of us tends to stall. Naming the pattern is the first step out of it. These are the five we see most in builders:
- The Overthinker. Trying to perfect before you speak — the work stays safe in your head where no one can react to it.
- The Distractor. Escaping friction with motion — every new idea is a doorway out of the hard middle of the current one.
- The Invisible Builder. Creating in silence — the work is real, but it lives where no one can see it.
- The Lost Pilot. Vision but no compass — every direction feels equally plausible and equally risky.
- The Lone Founder. Carrying too much alone — isolation drains the will before the task does.
Why naming the block matters
You can't solve a block you can't see. Most productivity advice treats the symptom — more focus, more discipline, a better system — when the real friction is upstream: an unspoken doubt, an unclear audience, a project carried alone. The moment the pattern has a name, the next move becomes obvious. The Friction Scan exists to give you that name in two minutes, free, with no signup.
What comes after the scan
The Friction Scan names the surface block. Underneath it is a deeper question: not just how you stall, but who you are and what income path actually fits you. That's what Discern is for — a guided $27 session that reads the pattern in you and hands you three fitted directions. The scan is the first step; Discern is the path.
